Signs and symptoms

The impairing effects of medications on driving vary according to the class of drug. Specific adverse effects on driving ability can be found in the Medsafe data sheets or consumer medicine information sheets 

Often this information is buried deep within consumer information sheets, so it is essential that it be brought to the attention of patients/clients.

Examples of information include:

"Oxycodone may modify patients’ reactions to a varying extent depending on the dosage and individual susceptibility. If their ability is impaired, patients should not drive or operate machinery." - This information is found in section 4.7 on page 10 of 18 in the medicine datasheet.14
